You know that dreaded feeling before a work trip when you dream the airline loses your bag?
Well… that dream became very real for me on my way to Sault Ste. Marie for the Anishinabek Education System event.
Cue the panic.
My markers, easels, supplies, even my clothes, all gone somewhere in the travel vortex.
My first thought: what am I going to tell my client?
Thankfully, I had my trusty iPad with me. I knew I could still deliver digital graphic recordings for the group. Not my usual setup, but a solid Plan B.
And honestly, it worked.
By Day 2, I was reunited with my bag, and all my beloved markers, just in time to create a large scale board for the keynote.
While I love digital graphic recording, there is something about markers on paper that is just more engaging and interactive with a group.
That said, digital definitely has its advantages, and in this case, it saved the day.
A good reminder: always have a backup plan.
Huge thanks to the wonderful team for being so supportive and flexible
