You Got it… Graphic Recordings!

One of the most underrated strengths of graphic recording is how long the work continues to live after an event is over. Yes, it’s powerful in the room—helping people feel heard, engaged, and connected in real time—but even MORE magic shows up in the days, weeks, and even years that follow.

The most common way clients use their final graphic recordings is by displaying them in boardrooms, entryways, and hallways. These pieces become visual storytelling anchors—reminders of collective goals, shared learning, and the momentum created during the session. They spark conversations, reinforce commitments, and keep people oriented toward what matters.

And, in this photograph below, City of Peterborough Mayor Jeff Leal is presented with a stunning graphic recording (created by ThinkLink Graphics artist Shannon Loomer) that was created during the Electric City Summit by Fleming College President Maureen Adamson in 2023.

And then there’s the digital side.

Digital versions of graphic recordings open up even more creative possibilities. Beyond the usual uses—reports, websites, social media, slide decks—we’ve seen organizations get wonderfully inventive. Clients have printed their graphic recording artwork on mugs, postcards, canvases, and even huge event banners. These touchpoints turn organizational ideas into tangible, memorable artifacts.graphic recorder toronto ontario canada holding a gift with artwork on it

Don’t underestimate how staff use their own digital files, either. I was chatting with someone recently who told me she uses one of my graphic recordings as her computer wallpaper. I’ve also spotted past clients using them as Zoom backgrounds—quiet little reminders of the work they’re proud of and the conversations that shaped them.

Graphic recordings aren’t just a snapshot of a moment. They’re visual assets that extend the value of your event, reinforce key insights, and help your team stay connected to the story you’re building.
