At ThinkLink Graphics, we often describe graphic recording as the art of turning conversations into visuals in real time. But it’s more than drawing or note-taking—it’s a powerful facilitation tool that helps groups understand each other, stay aligned, and make better decisions.
A graphic recorder listens closely during your meeting, workshop, conference, or gathering and transforms complex ideas into inspiring, engaging illustrations. We capture themes, key points, and connections on the spot, always inviting feedback and additions so the final visual truly reflects the group’s shared understanding.
In a nutshell: Graphic Recording makes your event more awesome.
Why Graphic Recording Works
Our brains naturally retain more when information is paired with imagery. Graphic recording boosts engagement by giving people something meaningful—and memorable—to look at as they participate. Whether your event is in-person or virtual, these visual summaries help people follow the conversation, contribute their ideas, and stay focused.
Here is an example of what Erica Bota‘s virtual graphic recording style looks like, when drawn with an ipad and a digital pencil, and joining remotely:

Benefits of Hiring a Graphic Recorder (in-person OR virtual)
• Builds shared understanding
ThinkLink visuals gather all perspectives in one place, showing how ideas connect. This clarity helps teams make informed decisions and understand each other’s viewpoints.
• Supports problem-solving
Seeing the “big picture” mapped out visually makes it easier to identify challenges, explore options, and co-create solutions—much like watching someone work through a complex equation on a chalkboard.
• Creates a lasting artifact
After the event, your graphic recording becomes a tangible takeaway. It can be shared with attendees, used to bring newcomers up to speed, or revisited in future meetings to keep the momentum going.
• Boosts creativity and innovation
Visual thinking encourages people to approach ideas differently. That’s why graphic recording is so effective in brainstorming sessions, strategy meetings, and innovation workshops.
• Virtual graphic recording is always an option
If travel or budget is a concern, ThinkLink offers virtual graphic recording. You get the same real-time engagement and polished visual summary—just created remotely. It’s an accessible, cost-effective way to bring the power of visual thinking into your meeting.
